I noticed when looking at various discussions regarding Islam, Muslims say that the word Islam means peace. Then they provide some verses from the Quran and some stories of the prophet Muhammed being merciful and kind to other people. However, the prophet did wage many wars? and Muslims started attacking other empires. Doesn't this contradict the sentence "religion of peace?"
