Why taking note on Friday Jummah is disallowed / prohibited / haram in Islam?

BismAllah.

I have heard numerous times that taking note on Friday Jummah is discouraged. I do not really understand the reason why and feel pretty frustrated. People who claim its not allowed because it will be a type of innovation.

My view: What in the world did I just innovated? I had attended Jummah throughout the years. Honestly, I know many of you do as well, I dosed off during the listening to the jummah, AstafruAllah... However, for couple of times, I took notes when I am listening to the Jummah, I found myself more concentrated with the Jummah and, for the first couple of times, I actually REMEMBERS what I listened afterward (Hey, you know it also happens to you :) )...most important, ALMOST NEVER dosed off (I remember I did dosed off even try to take note maybe once because I can not really hear the speaker and tried too hard to just even listen what the Imam is saying...)

So I wonder, is taking note really a type of innovation? Please state clear reference from Quran & Sunnah, jazaklahir!
