Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad ibnʿArabī al-Ḥātimī aṭ-Ṭāʾī (1165-1240 CE) famous as Ibn Arabi and reputed as Muhye d-Din, was a highly renowned Muslim scholar, poet and mystic from Andalusia. Ibn Arabi has been the most influential Imam of Sufism and his Sufi theology has attracted great attention in and outside the Muslim world while being a source of enduring controversies among Muslim scholars from various sects.
