I have limited knowledge about the history of Islam. I have just started to study the history of islam.

I have a feeling that, in general, the Umayyad family was responsible for the anarchy and chaos that ensued just after the death of Muhammad (PBUH).

For example, the assassination of three righteous caliphs, the battle of Karbala incident, etc.

Can anyone verify this?

  • As is written this question shows no prior research effort, needs a focus and it is by default subjective. You should at least name some historical background which let you think this is the case just naming the assassination of the three righteous caliphs isn't enough. And basically there's no known relationship between these incidents and the Ummayads.

  • @Medi1Saif Wasn't the third caliph from the Ummayad family? Otherwise, agreed, this question is subjective and hard to answer. Different sects will likely have very different opinions.
