Salam, I am planning to do itikaf Insha’allah with 2 friends of mine however I’ve read that if you leave the masjid then it becomes void. The bathrooms located are inside the building and as someone who suffers from urine incontinence I would need to make multiple trips to keep my wudu fresh. Is there any ruling or text that states it’s permissible to use bathroom facilities regularly in itikaf for a person with urine incontinence? Jazakallah khair.

  • First of all I'tikat is not obligatory, and while performing it one is allowed to do anything which is necessary or good, such as visiting sick people or following a Janazah performing ghusl for Friday prayers etc. So why do you think your condition should be an issue, it would rather be ab issue if you could no more control your incontinence as then it is questionable whether staying in a mosque is permissible for you at all.

  • My condition isn’t the issue it’s the source I read stating that if I am not in wudu then my itikaaf does not count. It got me confused. As for controlling my condition I am able to control it well it just means I have to keep tissue paper in my pants for about 30 mins do another Istinja and wudu then I have no issue.
