I have a question, regarding these two verses:
In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds (zawjani). (Ar-Rahman, Verse 52, Saheeh International)
And it is He who spread the earth and placed therein firmly set mountains and rivers; and from all of the fruits He made therein two mates (zawjani, followed by the number Two); He causes the night to cover the day. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought. (At-Ra’d, Verse 3, Saheeh International)
The first verse is about Paradise and the second about the Earth. Are there pairs of fruits? Or are these referring to the seeds in fruits, which lead to a new growing plant. Which two-sided distinction is meant here?
Thanks for responses.
