In this talk (and also in some other translations, both in English and in Turkish), Nouman Ali Khan, explains the part awaited [misfortune for us]
watarabbastum as, “delaying to change (as in repenting, etc.)”
From these different translations, it seems that the term or the concept can be taken or understood in more than one way. The problem is that to my ears, the two interpretations are nowhere close. Has there been a through commentary by the expert scholars?
