Is it halal to draw living things if the head is not drawn? Like in this picture. picture of living thing without a head

Please give hadith/ayah/proof if this is allowed.

  • We can't give you such a proof from the qur'an as there isn't. But there are ahadith from which we may conclude this see for example in If statues are haram why are there statutes in Muslim majority cities? – Medi1Saif Jul 18 at 8:22
  • I read a hadith like this.. does this hadith actually exists? "Picture is head, if the head is removed, then it's not called a picture anymore." (Al-Baihaqi 7/270. Syaikh Al Albani said this hadith is shaheeh in As Silsilah Ash Shohihah no. 1921) – Orca O Jul 18 at 9:01
  • Maybe you should share a link to this hadith and ask about it (authenticity? sources? interpretation?) first! – Medi1Saif Jul 18 at 9:35
  • Sorry, that hadith that I posted is from an Indonesian site and was translated. Here's similiar text I found in english: Ibn Qudaamah said in al-Mughni (8/111): If the head of the image is cut off, then it is no longer makrooh. Ibn ‘Abbaas said: The image is the head. So if the head is cut off, it is no longer an image. This was also narrated from ‘Ikrimah. End quote. Link: islamqa.info/en/answers/220161/… – Orca O Jul 18 at 9:50
  • Well this article discusses the qualification made by al-Albani and considers the hadith as da'if jidan as a statement of the prophet. But sahih as a statement of both ibn 'Abbas and 'Ikrimah. – Medi1Saif Jul 18 at 12:19
