What if we have been praying salat wrong unintentionally throughout our lives and don't know it. I've heard that Allah Almighty also gives importance to niyah. So in the following case because of our niyah to perform salat and because of not doing it intentionally will we be forgiven. Because I have heard from an elder that it might be very difficult that we are praying the correct way and many people pray in different ways according to their beliefs so Allah looks at our niyah of performing salat instead of the method

Performance and Niah are both important to be done properly and cannot cover for each other. But ignorance is negligible and you can correct yourself as soon as you discover the fault, and move on accordingly.

Can you provide any evidences to support your claims, or do you think we are a peer support, advices are not what we are looking for rather than answers of questions. – Medi1Saif Apr 9 '18 at 7:58
  • I have not been on a peer support group and I just guess what it can be. This fellow here asked a straight question and I gave a straight answer. I believe that is what stack exchange is all about. Should I prove it with evidence depends on how useful he thinks my answer is and comments. – MTG Apr 11 '18 at 5:00
  • @MTG: Well yeah, you should do that. Just to have a proper foundation to give to future readers of this post. – user24306 Jul 7 '18 at 9:30
  • When you guess you don't answer a question in 2 sentences. Either you ask OP to make clear what he wants or you discuss each possibility that comes to mind! – Medi1Saif Sep 5 '18 at 9:59
