There are many other questions about this, the reason I posted this is that I found a Hadith the other questioms don’t mention.

It was transmitted in the golden chain:

حَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ

إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْجُمُعَةَ فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ
When any of you arrives to the Jumu’ah, perform Ghusl

This Hadith is also transmitted in Bukhari and Muslim, sunan al nasa’i and the musnad of Ahmad but I lost their references

My question is: Given this Hadith is clearly a command to perform ghusl for the Jumu’ah prayer, why do most scholars think its not obligatory to have ghusl for the Jumu’ah prayer??
