Apr 7, 2023 at 20:13 comment added Munassar Alam The problem is the verse does not say Jesus was like other prophets. It is specifically mentioned that prophets before him "passed away." This verse mentioning that other prophets "passed away" must mean that Jesus (as) also did because he is a prophet just like them. To ascribe an extraordinary belief to Jesus (as) that no other prophet could do and then argue against his divinity is contradictory. Especially when the verse mentions a law of nature that Jesus (as) is (supposedly) an exception to (dying at a reasonable lifespan and not being alive in heavens for 2000+ years).
Apr 7, 2023 at 20:07 comment added Munassar Alam According to 3:55: "And when God says 'Oh Jesus I will cause you to die and raise you to myself...'" (if tawaffa is translated as it is everywhere else in the Quran) this would mean God will cause Jesus (as) to die at his appointed time (اجل مسمى) and then raise his spirit towards Him. So Jesus (as) would have to have lived after crufixition and hence pass away naturally.

Apr 6, 2023 at 19:55 comment added An_Elephant @MunassarAlam Did Isa lived naturally after that incident ?
Apr 6, 2023 at 19:53 comment added Munassar Alam Yes. The Quran rejects the idea that the Jews killed Jesus (as). There is not a rejection that he didn't die of natural causes like everyone else does. It is just that he wasn't murdered. Where is it said that Jesus (as) didn't die of natural causes?
Apr 6, 2023 at 18:58 comment added An_Elephant @MunassarAlam Are you sure you read the verse mentioned in last ?
Apr 6, 2023 at 16:46 comment added Munassar Alam Not all prophets are equal. Some are granted more than others. But what is the precedent for Jesus to be granted 2000+ years of physical life, the majority of which he is enjoying in heaven? What greatness did he do to deserve this? If anyone deserves this it is the Holy Prophet (sa). Not the humble Messiah for the Bani Israil.
Apr 6, 2023 at 16:43 comment added Munassar Alam All prophets before Isa (as) are identical in the sense that they passed away. If God just meant to show that Jesus is like other prophets then he would not have mentioned that other prophets passed away but would have omitted this and simply said he's like the messengers before him. This mention of passing away is laghw (useless) if it does not apply to Jesus (as) and the Quran saying laghw is against the beauty of the Quran
