Al-Albani is a self-learned salafi scholar who is considered by some people as the hadith scholar of our Era. As for what stands behind the Darussalam classification is another scholar "Hafiz Zubair 'Ali Za'i" (see here at the end of 6. sources, numbering and grading). Note that calling these books sihah is not that common a more common reference is the six book (al-Kuttub as-Sittah) while some add sunan ibn Majah others add al-Muwatta' instead. Please clarify what you mean!
