Aug 18, 2020 at 20:44 comment added Medi1Saif @Honey my comment is clear the addition of names other than the mothers of believers as it is mentioned in the same sentence. Hussain or Husain is the person who discussed with Zaid whom else the prophet might have meant.
Aug 18, 2020 at 19:38 comment added Thaqalain @Medi1Saif Can you clarify something? "and that addition wouldn't make sense" what does "that" refer to? Also don't understand what you mean by "And Hussain would have never wondered why others are (also) meant by ahl al-Bay" Can you explain that too?
Aug 18, 2020 at 18:56 comment added Medi1Saif @Honey well the point is as you said, those not included are excluded while those included are included, but in the opposite meaning. As if anybody would consider the offspring of 'Ali, Ja'afar etc. as ahl-al-Bayt by default it wouldn' t be necessary to explain and that addition wouldn't make sense. And Hussain would have never wondered why others are (also) meant by ahl al-Bayt. In Arabic the usual meaning of ahl al-Bayt is the wives and kids of a man.
Feb 15, 2019 at 22:05 comment added Thaqalain It's a way of speaking brother. When there are inclusions, then thos included are included. Those not included are not. Otherwise we could say that any John Dick and Harry was also not excluded and they can also be part of the family. specifically in the Sahih Muslim, Book 44, Hadith 55, the last narration you mentioned, the prophet excludes his wives. Who are the members of his household? Aren't his wives the members of his family? Thereupon he said: His wives are the members of his family (but here) the members of his family are those for whom acceptance of Zakat is forbidden
