It is quite common to come across claims that this was not the case, or that "ridda" does not mean simple apostasy such as publicly stating "I think Islam is false", but instead refers to treasonous activities; only recently I've been confronted with the claim that death for apostasy has historically been a minority opinion. It'd be useful to have clarifying references for what exactly constitutes ridda. | |
