There is no base rule in the Quran or Sunnah, except for the Hadith prohibiting the bell

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The bell is the musical instrument of the Satan.

وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ، وَابْنُ، حُجْرٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، - يَعْنُونَ ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ - عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ الْجَرَسُ مَزَامِيرُ الشَّيْطَانِ ‏"‏ ‏.

I believe in my opinion that all music that leads you astray is haraam, but that which leads you towards Allah is okay, like Anasheed. Some say that Music like anasheed is okay only if there is no instruments.
