Abraham and Moses were the mighty Prophets. None of the past prophets since Israel were as mighty as Moses:

Deuteronomy 34:10 "And there arose NOT a prophet since in Israel LIKE unto Moses.

Hence it does not make comparison of another mighty prophet Abraham with moses since Abraham came before Israel.

Then the Torah contains a prophecy of a future Prophet who will be like Moses and similar in mightiness:

God Almighty speaks to Moses in Book of Deuteronomy chapter 18 verse 18: "I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him."

:Book of Deuteronomy --18:20 “But if any prophet presumes to speak anything in my name that I have not authorized him to speak, or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die

I found those who follow this scriptures take a different view of this here

in fulfillment of following Quranic verse:

"Those unto whom We gave the Scripture recognize him (Muhammad) as they recognize their sons. But verily, a party of them conceal the truth while [well] they know it"(2:146)

"Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures) in the law and the Gospel".(7:157)

How can we identify such a Prophet from their scriptures, how are they interpreting it wrongly?

Adding following verse would have made it more clear:Book of Deuteronomy --18:20 “But if any prophet presumes to speak anything in my name that I have not authorized him to speak, or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die. – user426 Feb 18 at 11:20

These verses are fulfilled in all their entirety in Jesus as a prophet.

Since it is said in verse 18:20 of Deut. that this prophet would not die, it cannot be true of Mohammad. On the contrary since Jesus was raised from death, verses 18:18-20 are all true when applied to Jesus, especially verse 18:20.

The fact that death was powerless against Jesus only confirms verse 18:20, that what Jesus spoke and taught was in God's name and that God authorized him to speak. For this reason death could not have power over Jesus as is said in this verse.

This is even confirmed by Quran itself, (saying that Jesus was never killed, but taken to heaven).

As such, this great prophet was undoubtedly Jesus.

the prophet must die means he should be killed! – Ali Feb 18 at 12:49
This remark is not in line with verse 18:20 of Book of Deut. – user426 Feb 18 at 14:21
