When the eleventh Imam of the Shia (Al Hassan Al 'Askari) died, and he did not leave any son. But a man called Uthman Bin Sa'id, claimed that the eleventh Imam did have a son, and he disappeared when he was the age of four. If I am not mistaken, Shia only accept the word of someone who is infallible, how can the word of Uthman be accepted when he isn't infallible? Did the Imam himself mention anything about a son?

I couldn'y fully understand your question, before to give you and answer would you please first clarify what is the difference between this Hadeeth (which actually is not only one but there are more who have seen the 12th Imam, also the previous Imams and even the holy prophet has given good tidings of that to several people) and other Ahadeeth? I mean all of them have been reached to us through infallible persons, those who are رواة الحدیث and are approved by علم الرجال to be honest and truthful. What's the difference between here that you are asking about and the other cases? – owari Feb 9 at 8:08
